The Ignition Programme is Wipers Youth’s flagship employability and independence pathway project for 2026, combining workplace experience, employability workshops, and funded driving support. It helps young people gain confidence, life skills, and qualifications, breaking barriers to education, training, and employment.

Passing a driving test is a milestone moment in a young person’s life — symbolising freedom, maturity and opportunity. It can open doors to employment, mobility and social connection, empowering young adults to access a wider range of careers and community roles.

Through partnerships across multiple industries, participants gain exposure to real-world work environment in construction, housing and facilities management, digital technology, agriculture, plastering, bike mechanics, and environmental sustainability. Each placement builds employability skills while fostering Independence and personal growth.
