About Us

About Wipers

Wipers is a Black-led youth charity, founded by professionals with lived experience of the criminal justice system in response to what we saw at every stage of it: systemic inequalities that fall hardest on Black and Global Majority young people and on marginalised communities, and services that could not reach the young people who needed them most.

Our answer was specialist mentoring and targeted group work programmes, delivered by credible messengers. For over ten years that model has served young people aged 10–25 across London — on referral orders and youth rehabilitation orders, in custody and on release, under probation supervision, at risk of entering the system, and leaving care for independent living.

The same commitment now extends further — into employability, inclusive sport for disabled young people, digital skills and youth-led research — because leaving the justice system behind takes more than a mentoring session. It takes a route into work, a community to belong to, and a system that treats you fairly.

2. To Empower Young People:

We are driven by a desire to help young people recognise and develop their strengths, talents and positive attributes.

Our Values

Our beliefs and values underpin how we plan to fulfil our mission:

Our Theory Of Change

Our theory of change outlines how we deliver impact across four key service areas: Specialist Mentoring, Workshops & Programmes, Employability, and Youth Voice & Policy. Each element contributes to the development of essential life and work skills, self-esteem, and empowerment, culminating in improved life outcomes and increased opportunities for young people.
