Sammy Odoi

Founder & Managing Director

Sammy is a qualified social worker, social entrepreneur and founder of Wipers Youth CIC, a social enterprise dedicated to engaging and empowering disadvantaged and vulnerable young people. 


After graduating from Northampton University in 2001 with a BA in Law & Sociology, he initially started his career in music publishing before starting voluntary work with young people. This inspired a career change that has spanned over 14 years working with children and young people in a variety of settings, including residential social care, youth clubs, local authority child protection teams and Youth Offending Teams in London.​


Sammy is a qualified social worker, social entrepreneur and founder of Wipers Youth CIC, a social enterprise dedicated to engaging and empowering disadvantaged and vulnerable young people.


As a social entrepreneur, he's enjoyed opportunities to solve problems around developing a financially sustainable business with social aims and objectives that has the capacity to be both competitive and charitable. ​

His experience in raising social investment and utilising corporate partnerships to fulfil the organisation's mission and goals, has enhanced his strategic management capabilities and his increased level of corporate citizenship.


Sammy's contribution as a leader and advocate within his field has been recognised by the Youth Justice Board. In 2015 he was invited to the Ministry of Justice to join the YJB Round Table discussions on ethnic disproportionality within the CJS and at the 2015 YJ Conference was invited to lead a panel discussion on the same subject alongside chair of the YJB Lord McNally. 


The Young Review, chaired by Baroness Lola Young of Hornsey, recommended an advisory group be established to advise government and providers to support improved outcomes for young black and Muslim men in the Criminal Justice System. Now as a member of the Young Review Independent Advisory Group, Sammy continues to share his knowledge, experience and passion through delivering high-quality training courses.
